Research interests

Prabhat’s research focuses on the development of new photochemical transformation, visible light mediated multicomponent reactions employing flow chemistry and transition metal catalysis. Additionally, his research ambitiously extends into the realm of heterogeneous catalysis, focusing on the activation of triple bonds and employing Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) as innovative catalysts for generating carbenes and nitrenes.

A New Light on Isocyanide Synthesis (HORIZON-MSCA-2021)

SusIsocyanide is an ambitious project that aims for the sustainable synthesis of isocyanides by combining biobased feedstock, visible light and flow chemistry. The aim is to accomplish an economically viable and ecofriendly large scale synthesis of this fundamental and highly versatile building block that has already found widespread appreciation in academia, but suffers from underutilization in the pharma-, fine-chemicals and materials industry.
